Here’s a new fundraising project to follow on from the recent team effort to raise US$150,000 for research into the rare Mucolipidosis diseases (see details here). I’m now working on a more modest effort to raise NZ$35,000 to help maintain a colony of NZ Huntaway dogs with Sanfilippo Type A disease. Researchers at Massey University are working to refine delivery of gene therapy into the brain of affected dogs, as an important step in developing therapies for children affected by this devastating neurological disease.
Our funds will help breed, feed, house and care for the dog colony between research grants.
Here’s the link to our fundraising page on Givealittle NZ’s premier and trusted fundraising website. Funds will go to the registered charity LDNZ – Charities Commission number CC24962. We have just started this fundraiser and the first few hundred dollars have come in. Can you help?
